Cigarette lighter is loose
 

2005 X5 3.0i

Cigarette lighter is loose and it comes 1/3 out if I pull it. Someone said:

"There's two tabs on the left and right sides of the lighter socket. Slightly pry them out and your cig lighter should lock in place when you depress the button."

Unless I understood it wrong, it did not work. Any other ideas?

I had the same thing happen with mine. The dealership replaced the entire socket under my extended warranty.
