How is gas with the X-Pipe? ? ?

Sunday i put the Straight pipes inside and the first week i got kinda annoyed. It draws so much attention and It KILLS gas. I put $20 and it doesnt even give me a 1/2 of a tank. Before i know it that $20 is gone. How does the X-Pipe do???

Not sure how exhaust pressure released kills gas mileage, might be your foot on the gas to hear it :)

Change of exhaust has nearly no effect on mpg, especially if you are making it MORE free flowing.

If the exhaust is less restrictive you could be creating a rich environment (assuming you aren't somehow also getting more air to the motor) which could throw off gas mileage. The computer does compensate to an extend, but I'm skeptical of it ability to match a removed resonator..

That being said, I'd be surprised if removing the resonator would create measurable more flow...

no difference in mpg. just easier to have a heavy foot to hear the exhaust.

That was true before ECM's ran the system. You'd have to do a lot more than switch the exhaust pipes on a X5 to make it run rich. And if it did, there is another issue. :)

I had my x-pipe put on a week ago and have noticed zero difference in mpg. However, I will say I tend to "lean" on the gas pedal a bit more than before to hear the music coming from out back lol. Once the newness wears off, I'll be back to driving like an old guy :-)
