HELP - car asking for CODE after pulling cluster
i pulled my cluster for the first time since retrofitting NAV in my 2004 X5 and my car won't start!! asking for a CODE in the NAV screen. HELP!!!!
did a quick search. can anyone help? - :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: |
try 0000
|
i tried that.
there are "deactivate" and "change" selections under the code entry. neither will work, or let me into them. pretty nervous as my nav unit did not come with the car, thus, no code paperwork. |
If 0000 does not work as Philip suggested,
1. disconnect the battery for 1 minute 2. reconnect the battery, alarm will be blasting for about 45 sec 3. turn key to the second position 4. a 15 minute count down should be activated in display 5. at the end of the 15 min. count down, you should be able to start the X There may be more detailed instructions in the owners manual. so i followed your instructions, and an "emerg. deact." countdown showed up in the display, along with the code blanks. the countdown has always been frozen at 9.59. do i need to try all zero's again before the code will start to countdown? did your countdown move?
key is in position 2 and i'm just going to leave it for awhile. |
so car is now at dealer.......following the tips in the manual did not work for me.

I temporarily "solved" my problem by disconnect tachometer.. But its not really good.
Tomorrow I will call to my BMW dealer.. Or have you any ideas? |

something along the lines of what rob said before: (i belive the info is in the owners manual. Owner's Manual - BMW North America) 1. disconnect the battery for 1 minute 2. reconnect the battery, alarm will be blasting for about 45 sec 3. turn key to the second position 4. a 15 minute count down should be activated in display 5. at the end of the 15 min. count down, you should be able to start the X There may be more detailed instructions in the owners manual. |
Yes, I tried it..
In my country (Czech Republic) we have next steps: 1) Disconnect battery for 2 minutes 2) Connect battery 3) Turn key to position one 4) 10 minutes countdown 5) start engine For step 3 - I tried both positions 1., 2. but countdown is still frozen.. |
did you wait 10 mins even though the timer is not running?
maybe the key/vehicle lost its programming. i think there is a procedure for that as well. not sure what it is. something similar im sure. |
I wait for 1 hour and nothing :( .
After some studying of this sites.... I think that some unit (navi, VM...) is not correctly coded. Is this possible? I need a car every day and it is for me a huge complication :( . But still... I Love her! ♥ :) |
sorry, dunno about that.
good luck! |
Thank you so much!
I appreciate that. |
