You've gotten compliments, so why'd you change it?

After paying off the $1800 worth of parking tickets, put your resonator back in and start saving your money to repair your f'ed transmission. How cool do you look w/ a chick when your pushing your X5 out of that mall parking spot anyways?

You're comparing apples and oranges.

Of course it wont sound nothing like the V8. But if this set up sounds nice on the I6, I would think it sounds even better on the V8!

I agree, I'm just sayin. For I6 users, I'd follow the advice of others and stick w/ what people have used and had luck w/ before. Drone and a backfiring type sounds in an exhaust sucks, as I learned the hardway in my 7.

It'd be nice to be able to hear BMWX54.4's ebay mufflers in person (pre resonator delete) to see if going that route would have turned out like the Magnaflow's did for the 5,7 and M boards, where it sounded great w/o costing the price of the more expensive $1k+ systems out there. At the moment, my stock exhaust is enough for me, and under full throttle it has a burble/choke that I'm not a fan off, so hearing some other systems would be nice to see if there was a way to get rid of that noise.

BMWX54.4 although we all know that you hate m5james, i would take his advice on this one. he really seems to know what hes doing with the cars.

yes it may be a matter of pride, but when you save a bunch of $$ because of him, your pride wont matter anymore

m5james 02-01-2010 09:49 PM

...or he could waste his money buying a 4.8 exhaust, and in the end still have an improperly flowing exhaust. The solution is simple, but he hasn't said if he's even still got the stock resonator...I hope he didn't throw it away.

 I don't know if he hates me, but we (or at least I) have fun firing at each other. BMWX54.4 :gun:I just wish he'd listen and think ahead before he does the things he does, both here and in life.

WOW!!! So I finally listened to the terrible videos BMWX54.4 posted http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...tml#post707756, which got me to browsing through his awesome Photobucket videos and pics, and came across this pic of him w/ some friends. It somehow had a striking resemblance to a funny pic I have on my computer...anyways, moving on.

I vote for x pipe and stock mufflers

m5james 02-02-2010 01:10 PM

Granted a video vs in person won't always sound the same, but the video he has of his stock resonator w/ the ebay mufflers sounds pretty good. It'll cost him more to install an x-pipe and reinstall/repurchase his stock mufflers than it would for him to just throw the resonator back in w/ his existing ebay mufflers and leave it at that.
