Water Pump Plastic Impeller?

What year did they change to the metal WP impeller? I picked on the up from the dealer and its metal.

Now that I have everything apart I see the original one is metal as well.

Anyone know?

in 1999, if they gave you a metal one, return it, as the newest part is a composite plastic/metal.
