Which 19" rims on e53?
 

Hey folks,

I'm close to buying a 2006 4.4 e53 and would like to do a non-staggered 19" rim setup...I don't want to put 20" as I'd like to keep some comfort with the ride, but don't want to compromise on the looks either, hence I'm looking for existing options and pics if possible for a 19" config...

I like the 177 style rims and was wondering if anyone has them installed in a non-staggered config for F+R. If yes, which ones did you use: 9x19 or 10x19?...I was thinking of the following setup : 177 style with 285/45/19 tires

Any pics would be greatly appreciated.

1. Any 19" non-OEM replicas worth looking into?
2. If I put 285/50/19 instead of 285/45/19, according to this Tire Size Calculator, the spedometer reading would be by 4% slower...can the reading be corrected via programming?

IMO it looks alot better. and isnt the style 177 in size 20?

if you want good looking 19s i would go with style 132, theyre really nice, but i would def keep the staggered look, with the right tires they'll be perfect

Yes, the non-staggered looks great, but I was looking for the ability to rotate, and hence draw some extra life out of the tires...or, since traction is evenly split, I don't have to rotate?...

They come in 9x19 (front) + 10x19 (back) for the E70 and I heard you can retrofit for the e53

My vote is for Style 132s. I think I'm going to pick up a set new year for snow tires and get rid of the 18s.

Well, just looked on tire rack, and it looks like they don't make a snow tire for it. I guess I'll just snag a set of 20" Style 87 reps for the winter and slap on the Pirelli snows when funds allow.

As for you, I would probably grab either Toyos or Michelins. I had Toyos on my last truck and loved them, though tire noise was definitely an issue. I've always liked Michelins, and think you are not going to go wrong with a set.

For those who aren't quite sure what 19" 132 rims look like, I submit the following.
I really like the 'meaty spoke look' that these rims have.

Amazing really the difference what a good set of rims can make to any vehicle (see below for before 17" style 57 and after). I went with a staggered look using Yokohama Advan ST's.
Review here: Yokohama ADVAN S.T. So far they have performed and worn well. A few other members have run with these as well.

i know youre against staggered because you want to rotate and get longer life, but bmw actually does not recommend rotating the tires because the car is AWD. That doesnt mean you cant do it.. I run a staggered set up for the summer and i really do feel a difference in handling and i do not think the ride is bumpy at all. Thats just my .02.

The simple answer is yes you can do non staggered, would i suggest it? probably not (mainly for cosmetic reasons)

FYI: Original factory staggered 19s ran a 9-inch rim at the front and a 10-inch rim rim at the rear. Tyre sizes were 255/50 front and 285/45 rear.
