Whininh Noise from Engine
 

Hi guys,

Looking for a bit of advice, I have a 2001 4.4i E53 X5 with 75k miles on the clock. It has just developed two worrying symtoms as follows:

1. When driving very slow it can be very spluttery but is fine accelerating or driving at higher speeds.

2. When Accelerating I get a whining noise that runs in parrallel with the revs. It does this even in Park when I rev the engine.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

PS It is due an Oil Sevrice this week if that makes any difference.

umm umm check it out.. maybe transmission?
