Vehicle shake on acceleration

My 01 4.4 w/ 110k miles, has recently developed a noticeable shake, but only when I accelerate. Feel the shake mainly in front end, but also in gas pedal and floor/seat. Definitely not a tire balance issue. I'm in the process of replacing my suspension components (halfway finished), but I've never had this happen before and it kind of worries me. I notice it at speeds of 30mph +, but mainly on the highway. If I baby the gas, then it doesn't happen, only on moderate to hard acceleration. Has anyone had this happen or have an idea of what it could be? Thanks.

Had it happen on my e36 and it ended up being a flex disk. Might be something related to the driveshaft/axles.

Wow! I hope that solves my problem.

is the flex disk the rubber universal joint on the front driveshaft?

Had the same thing happen to me. Ended up being the aftermarket front half shaft I installed at that time. Replaced with a BMW one and problem solved.

Good luck,
Daniel

I have the same problem on my 06 4.8 and the dealership cannot locate the problem.

What is a flex disk? Guibo?

I believe it is a robber donut that helps join the front driveshaft to the halfshaft. It devours vibration so you don't experience shaky acceleration.

Yeah, flex/guibo. On a 4 wheel drive there are a few things that can cause this issue, but you may want to start here if it isn't anything else obvious. This is what it looks like;
