I am not really sure if I am getting this right, I am aware of different stages and engine software, but I thought there is another for transmission ? am I confusing something with something :)lol

no, there is not another transmission available for our cars. all dinan does is alter the factory parameters for the transmission control unit. it just makes the transmission a little snappier and hold a gear longer.

just read the dinan website. sorry, no tranny software for the 4.8is

I've got stage 1 on my 4.4. It's great, takes rpm longer, however It shifts longer, but I guess that's different cause. It also adds a little Torque due to different timing parameters I think. anyway, I do go faster then other 4.4s. But now I want to buy 4.6is and will be sad it will not have Dinan software... No Service center in Eu either.

how did you update this in the car

have to go a dinan dealer and they will flash it with a cheesy little computer that looks like an old school scientific calculator. only takes like 20 minutes.
