Is there a 'tool' I should be using to pry the climate unit out? I think even a small screwdriver is to fat.

Just curious, what are you trying to do?

BTW, there almost certainly is a tool. In cases like this BMW specs a 'trim removal tool or wedge.' You can pick up a kit of them from a place like Crutchfield.

Wire up an Aux Ipod port.

Where are you trying to wire it up, b/c in the standard way all that stuff isn't necessary to remove?

I can't remember what the backside of the DSC panel looks like, but isn't it one whole unit, not just little buttons attached from the backside of a single panel?

I would just install in the ashtray in the little hole where you putt the butts out. At least that way you can close the cover and you didn't make a permanent hole in your dash/panel pieces.

:iagree:and You're absolutely correct that it's a single panel with all the buttons attached. I don't think you can put the AUX there as I've already attempt at that idea 4 or 5 years ago when I first installed mine. It's a single circuit board back there behind the plastic panel. Trying to put the AUX connector there would require you to drill through that circuit board, which I don't think you would want to attempt and still want a functional switch panel afterward.
