CHIRP-less alarm activation

I have an '06 X5 and I want to program the vehicle/alarm to be silent when the alarm is activated. The light blinking is fine, but the chirp is annoying.

Is it possible for me to do this ... or do I have to get the dealer to program for me?

Or is it even possible to have a chirp-less alarm activation?

Thanks,
ty

The dealer can program it for you.

CJ is correct, that is one of the car memory options that the dealer can set for you. See http://www.xoutpost.com/showarticle-85.html

I would also suggest that when you have the dealer reprogram the system that you also ask them to change the setting so that the alarm will go off if the key is used to open the vehicle rather than the remote. Otherwise, if someone pops your lock then the alarm won't go off.

I couldn't agree more.
