Steering wheel vertical motion decreased

Not sure why this is happening, but in the last couple of days the steering wheel only raises an inch or so when I shut it down. Even if I use the adjuster it will only move an inch. I like it all the way down anyway, so it's no big deal. But I'm concerned this may be the start of a bigger problem. Anyone ever experienced this?

The motors that move the steering column can fail, it is fairly common. However, they tend to not move at all in that case, or make a noise when trying to move.

The movement is controlled by the seat memory module in the driver's seat. It controls the seat position and the steering column position. If this module fails, you can get limited motion as you are describing.

Thanks, JCL. So if I move the seat and it doesn't return to my position (Memory #1), I guess I'll know what the deal is. Even that doesn't really matter as I'm the only one who drives it.
