what year vehicle is it?? if older than 2006, it won't matter at all.
just take the keys and drive it yourself.... |
I thought the plastic trim was unpainted black plastic to the core?
If this is the case, logically you should be able to sand/buff until the scuff marks are gone, and only clean plastic shows. Obviously you do not want to sand so much that the hollow core of the plastic starts showing. |
That's going to have to go to a body shop.

Well thats what surprised me....why would it be white.. Surely the point of having a black bumber as oppoed to a color coded one would be to be to allow it to have a few more knocks and scuffs without looking too bad. If it was black all the way then i probably would have sanded it down and we would not even be discussing it.... So do you think its been repaired....? Thats a little worrying for me but it looks like a bloody good job if it has. How will i be ale to tell...? |
Hi,
Firstly don't get worried about it being painted. It is easy to scrape these areas and is a better option than replacing the whole section.Trust me I've paint loads of these but not on an X5. If the white areas are primmer/filler then it has been painted because as mentioned before it should be black to the core. |
Are you sure the white paint is not the paint from the car you hit?
Sorry if this sounds blatantly obvious. Just making sure. |
