Is the white plug at bottom of coolant reservoir supposed to be hooked up?

Hi,

I just completed replacing the oil separator and hoses. While doing that, I disconnected quite a number of electrical connections. When I put it all back together, I looked under the car to make sure I did not see any dangling wires and I did not see any. However, I did notice that there is a white plug under the coolant reservoir which is not hooked up to anything. So, I am wondering if I forgot to hook something up or if it that white plug is not used.

By looking at realoem.com, I can see that this plug is part #17137524812, and it is #8 in the diagram shown in the attached diagram.

My X5 is a 3.0i, standard package, no nav, production date 10/2000.

Thanks!

I might be wrong, but i think that since you have no nav, and lo ckuster, it is not supposed to be plugged in..

One of the things that must be done if upgrading from lo to high cluster, is setting up the low coolant sensor..
