Unable to Enter Passkey During Bluetooth Pairing
I"m trying to pair my iPhone with my 2006 X5 (with Navigation). The iPhone finds my BMW bluetooth system, but times out before asking me to enter the passkey.
Maybe I have too many pairs? After all these years, I'm guessing there are 6 to 8 phones still paired with my X5 Any suggestions on how to force the pairing or do delete all current bluetooth pairings? |
I was under the impression that only 4 remained paired. If you try to pair #5, one of the older phones gets deleted from the pairing.
And not to be rude, but you are following the directions exactly, right? This article helps. |
Try pulling the fuse for the system for a minute. Seems to reset stuff / allowed me to pair when nothing else worked.

Fuse or pulling the negative terminal of the battery will reset the bluetooth module. Obviously, pulling the negative terminal on the battery will also reset other modules as well.

This is what worked for me, 05 4.4 with iPhone
I had to remove all the previous pairings on my iphone. As soon as I did this, I was able to enter the passkey. I am the second owner and I had to remove the plastic trim tray on the passenger side of the spare tire area to access the silver box with the code written on it.

I had to unhook my TCU from the car and do it. Even at that it took several attempts. I thinks its the iphone
