screen looks weird since battery died
 

hey all, was wondering if anyone has had this problem. well i stopped my car and turned on the hazard lights to load groceries in to the apartment but i totally forgot about it. so it sat there with its hazards all night and drained the batter. so i jump started it and all was fine except now my nav screen is this basic blue color and the resolution is low or something. i can pick different color schemes but they were different from before. also im missing the GPS navigation option from my menu... maybe some other stuff too but i cant remember. anyways everything still works, the nav unit in the back is still on and can eject the cd and whatnot, but my screen seems to not recognize it..

i heard that the computer is run through the nav system and if it doesnt recognize it, it goes back to the basic blue screen, has a weird font, and loses these options options..

if anyone can help with what i should do, please let me know. ive checked my fuses and took out the nav fuses for 30 seconds and put them back in.. no luck.. maybe if there is a way to restart the computer? i have also unplugged the battery for a few minutes (in the trunk) and plugged it back in.. still no luck.

i have a 2001 x5 4.4l

edit. also its not the DVD one.. so im guessing its mk3? dont know how i could have corrupted the flash since it wasnt running anything in there while the car was off.. the cd wasnt even in there, no radio playing etc..

The battery needs to be recharged to full capacity. Is this your original battery? If so you need to replace it. BMW electronics are very sensitive when not getting the correct amount of voltage.

im not sure, it looks fairly new though. ill try that.

i did some researchin on this board and it seems as if ive corrupted my flash memory somehow. im not sure since i didnt have anything in my nav when the battery drained. i hope this isnt the problem.

I noticed today, that my screen looked a little yellowish compared to normal. Not sure what caused this. My battery and alternator are new and the screen was fine until a few days ago. Anyone have this problem?

My screen was dull for a couple days. I tried changing the brightness etc but it didn't look any better. I have the custom software which has OEM color and also the custom dark blue night mode coloring. I switched back and forth between the two and also tried split and full screen a few times. Nothing seemed to fix it. Then after a few days it went back to normal and looked fine again. I have no idea how it happend but maybe there is hope for you guys.

My screen has gone back to the darker color now. No idea what happened. I have checked all the obvious things like color 1 or 2. brightness setting in menu and the brightness scroll knob by the headlight switch.
