Retrofit CD Changer in my X5???

Hi all, I have a 2001 X5 3.0 with the basic radio and business CD. I do not have a 6 disk but came across a good deal - its a BMW 82 111 469 404. There are probably 4 connectors in the back left storage cubby but none look like they will work. What do I need to get a changer in there?
Thanks in advance
Brian

I think all x5s were pre wired for cd changers...you have to make the changer is compatible...like if you had dsp etc, but the connectors should be there. And the prefacelifttefd x5s 99-03 have different connectors
i i.e. round vs square

I have a set of installation instructions that might help you out, but the file is too big to post here. PM me.

I did this to my '03 same as yours with just business cd and I did it to my '04 now as well. You need to get the cd kit from the dealer for sure in order for you to mount it. But the wire is definitely in the back.

ok, so I do not have to route a wire from the head unit all the way back? Cause if I did, it won't happen!
Do you remember what you paid for the kit?

No, no need to route a wire. The connector is already back there.

Write up can be seen here

If I remember correctly, it was around $38+ for the mounting kit.

You can see the illustration here

E53 without Nav Hardware Kit P/N 82 11 0 009 302

Everything in that illustration came with the kit except #1 which is the main backing. Everthing, all parts and screws came all prepackaged in one box.
