Dead battery question - what's the deal with the headlight?

When a battery is toast, why does the left high beam (I think) headlight light up?

Low voltage causes lots of wierd things to happen in electrical systems . . . especially if the electrical system is already wierd to begin with like the one in your X. Mine does the same thing except its the right headlight.

EDIT*** My bulb was burnt replaced and lights are fine... I guess it was just by chance.

dead battery

Battery has been dying, for the past couple years have had a problem with the left low beam not coming on; a bad capacitor (ignitor), back to the battery, I could jump it and drive it fine with no codes, but once I shut it off it would not start again without a jump, I disconnected both ignitors giving me only high beams, I drove it yesterday for about an hour and it started up fine this morning, so I just ordered new head lights with ignitors on ebay for $300.00

Hey I purchased a light control module and have an appointment with the dealer to program it My question is if I install the module and drive it to the dealer will it or could it cause damage to the module?, the dealer said they didn't know. I got the factory module online for $50.00 cheaper then the dealer. I think my best bet is to drive it to the dealer and change it in their Parking lot it only takes minutes, they said they will program it for a flat $195.00 What do you think??

Well I got my LCM programed today and still no right headlight and my left brake light still didn't work, telling me the LCM wasn't the problem, so I ripped into it and found the tail light housing had corrosion on it giving me no continuity between the bulb and the housing this was not noticable until I removed the housing, cleaned it up and one problem solved, the head light if you read my post earlier is an after market but it was just plug and play, when first installed they worked fine for about a week till the right one stopped working, I found it was a loose connection going to the bulb, problem two solved. I was directed to the LCM on this forum come to find out that the LCM was not the problem so I have almost $700.00 rapped up in an LCM so if you know any one out there that actually needs an LCM that is programed for an 2002 E53 3.0 I have one for sale PN 61356961141
