nice, how much these run for?

Strip9r 04-15-2010 02:16 PM

I like them. Is there a link to a prior thread that gives information on these units?
Never mind I found it...

You shouldn't have started another thread on this, but rather continued with the last one.

In any case are you sure this is going to fit an X5? It has basically the same shape as the On Board Monitor of the E46 3 series units that had a cd player and not a tape deck and that would not fit an X5.

Looks a lot like the Dynavin unit that's all the rage over on M3Forum:

Subscribing to the second thread about this.

Would be nice to have them consolidated into one (Hint, hint, Mr. Mod).

Cheers,

any updates?

Philly X5 07-28-2010 10:45 AM

looks like they just upgraded these and the knobs look like real OEM ones and not the ugly plastic ones...

They will start producing the e53 units in a couple if days-weeks.
We should put a separate thread for a Group Buy

I am very interested.

Sounds good.....if this cant happened i might buy the dice media hub thing since it can do most of the functions except nav which i have a garmin for. But i rather have this unit. cant wait to see an x5 variant.

Personally, I've been looking at this unit for awhile. I still would be very skeptical about purchasing one and certainly would not like to be one of the fist 1000 or so. Quality and pictures can lie as well as performance. Just don't get overexcited and be careful. There is a thread with almost 90 posts discussing this particular head unit. Check it out.

Maybe but the youtube has tons of clips with this unit and so far I like what I see...;)

I would like to upgrade to something like this, but really wish they had one available with the function of the BC and DSP compatibility etc. I just don't want the audio project of adding the amps needed to run all the speakers and wiring it all up right etc.

I still need proof of reliability. I've sold and installed stereo units for over 20 years, and unless the failure rate is less than 1% (hopefully it's .05%), the company will need to do more R & D. Don't just buy a unit because it looks good and has a lot of features. Looks don't mean squat if the unit doesn't work well or breaks down. I agree it looks good, but I'm still skeptical. It's kinda like a new model car. Never buy the first year till the bugs are worked out. JM2C.

Any update on this for e53?

Thanks,
