How to get nice exhaust sound
 

Hey I have a 2004 3.0 x5 and I was wondering what is the best mod or mods to improve my exhaust sound. I want to get my exhaust a little deeper and louder not to crazy somethings like the infinity, I was thinking about getting an X pipe but im not sure how much it will really improve the sound of my car. Any tips or info would be really appreciated.

X-Pipe does not quite make the X louder specially on a 3.0. You may hear a little difference.. It's a start however. If you want something louder you may opt for an aftermarket exhaust like the Remus which I heard does not scream attention rather a deep tone.. Any of the Remus guys could make a better statement.

The Remus, with stock resonator is still somewhat tame on the 3.0i. But it does give a deeper note than stock.

Keep the resonator on. Choose either Remus, supersprint, dinan, or eisenmann. I love the supersprint on the 3.0. RichiRich has done this and he might have a soundclip. Get ready to fork out at least 1300.00 on a new set.
