Stickrod, can I ask a silly question?
Why bother to install the H11 connections onto the HID kit wire harness? Can't you just plug the factory X5 wire harness directly into the ballast/igniter box (isn't it an H11 connection conveniently?), therefore eliminating the need/use of the H11 connection/HID kit wire harness? |
If I remember correctly the plugs were not compatible with the OEM connectors. Therefore I had to modify the harness (or 2 wires in this case)

Thanx Stickrod. I just got my X5 back today and will be doing this install as soon as my projector fogs show up. I was just curious in the mean time.

i've looked everywhere and wasn't able to find them so I just ordered H11 fog lights instead of trying to retrofit projectors.

So the purpose of the weatherpack H11 male connectors is to fit the H3 wiring harness with the factory H11 socket? If not can someone please explain?
Also do anyone know where can I find these? The eBay link posted has expired. |
here's what I did:
I purchased the weatherpack H11 male connectors. I went to the dealer and bought the OEM plugs from X5's that came with the projector fogs from the factory (2001-2003). I then added the OEM ones to the weatherpack H11. So, everything is plug and play, and I can always convert back to stock. Hope this helps! |
