Weird issue front passenger door electrics went out.
I have a weird issue that started today on my 2001 X5 4.4i. I somehow lost all power to the passenger door electrical components. Everything on the door that required power is out-- the window, door lock, power mirror, and even courtesy light switch is out. All the other doors and electrical components on the X5 seem to be working fine. Got any ideas?

It could be the box which the open window button is on...
I think maybe the box distribute power to the various parts. Im not sure though, but had a similar issue on mine, where a bad connection was causing problems... |
:dunno:My driver side window open but do not close again with the switch at the control box at the door panel please can some one help me
Thanks |
I am having this identical problem on my front passenger door (2003 E53 with 71k miles). Just started today; the window doesn't work, the lock won't lock either with the key fob or the console switch and opening the door does not light the interior lights. This also makes my alarm system inoperable when opening the passenger front door. Also, I've lost all control of the passenger side mirror. The only thing that does work is the courtesy light on the inside of the door will illuminate when one of the other doors open.
Has anyone been able to repair this issue? If so, can you advise the fix? Thanks, Rick |
Unfortunately Ive joined in this pain as well.. it seems i have no power to my passenger side front door, the window, lock & power mirror all do not work, i check the related fuses in the glove box and all are good..Im lost....any ideas...anyone?????

Not that I would be the big specialist but would it be possible that you have lost the ground connection on the door? That would mean all circuits are open - regardless of all fuses - just my 2 cents.
Testing that would be easy. Take a piece of wire and provide ground from the body to the door. Good luck |

I found the issue (with the help of a local wrench). Turned out to be the power window switch assembley that can be easily popped out from the door with a screw driver! That assembley houses all the wires that feed the window, mirror and door lock. We replaced that assembly ($180 part) and all issues were resolved.
Hope this helps. |

It is a stock color called sienna red (sp?) or something like that. |
It looks orange almost. I like it. Glad to hear you figured it out! Well done!
