Shopping for tires

My wife's '02 3.0 is in need of new tires... the Michelin 255/55/18 have about 30% thread left.

Question: can I get different size tires without investing in new rims? Stock tires are 255/55/18. For example, would it be possible to stagger? Should I stay stock with 255/55/18 all around?

Advise please.

Thanks!

Stagger set up on same size rims f&b, not adviceable. Stay stock if you wanna keep your rims.

:iagree:Tire choice is up to you. Depends on what you are looking for, mileage, performance, all season, etc.

Check out the reviews of the General Grabber on tirerack.com. Besides being very affordable, they perform well on the X5. I'm sure you're not concerned about snow/ice performance in California, but I was very impressed over the last winter!
