TCM (Transmission Control Module) Location
 

On real OEM it shows the TCM in the back right (drivers side) of the engine compartment. i did not see it there. i was to see if it dirty / cracked open / and if the electrical connections are shot. anyone know where this Module is? 2002 4.4i

It is where it said, just in that plastic box with the black lid held down with allen screws. It is pretty well sealed up in there.

ok, i saw that but it was on the pass side. i should have figured it was in there on not on the drivers side. i may take a peek in there and see if there is any dirt or water damage.

If there is any signs of water damage in the bottom of the box that would mean there is a clogged drain in that body cavity somewhere under the box... So if that is the case you may be removing the wheel liner to clear a drain. But that is very uncommon with the E53, I've only really seen that on the E65.

clean as a whistle in there, no clogs in the drain, and all the contacts on the connections looked good.

set the alarm off, but that was to be expected...
