Headlight Aiming, additional adjustment?
 

Hope I am not repeating myself here with older post. On my 01 X5 w/ xeon (low beam) and regular bulb (high beam) I notices (1) if I aim the light based on high beam, the passenger low beam will practically point to the ground. (2) if I adj based on low beam, then the passanger high beam will point to the sky. This can't be normal. Are there additional adjustment within the light housing where I can make fine adj between the low and high beam? Thanks

Here in UK my lights have white plastic adjuster screws for low beam xenons .there are 2 on top of each light unit adjustable with a crosshead screwdriver or allen key . they only require a slight turn to make a big adjustment to beam aim . one screw for up/down . the other for left/right .
some workshops will have beam aim testers , correct aim is a legal requirement .
set the high beam by adjusting the entire light unit .then set the low beam with adjuster screws .

I am familiar w/ the main adjuster "white" knobs. It is the present of an adjuster screw, perhaps for the low beam, is a myster to me.

The set of headlights I got used through the forum and modified to my current setup have this same problem... My guess is somehow the highbeam reflector housing got set off from straight with the low beam housing inside the headlight housing, but I never bothered to check it out yet as it would require pulling out and apart the headlight...

just thinking aloud, since the high & low beam appears to be stuck to one another and adjusting one affects the other, if you adjust both in opposite direction concurrently, does it solve the prob?

No, both screws affect the same pieces internally, just from different sides.
