Recommended tire fitters Richmond VA ?
 

I need some new shoes on my 06 4.8iS. Still torn between the Contis and the Toyos but I digress.

Stealer recommended shipping my tires direct to him and he fits . Great idea except the quote was OTT. Do not trust many local shops as they try to use hammer on weights on alloy rims and dont have a Hunter etc etc.

Anyone had a good experience ?

You're right: Having tires put on at the $tealer is like going to a neurosurgeon to fix a hang-nail. Complete overkill. Expensive and un-necessary.

I have had great success at the ETD Discount Tire chain here in northern NJ. They are cheap, fast, and reliable. And they are ALWAYS careful. Don't know if they have locations in VA though. I've also used Sears Auto in the past. Bottom line is you need to micro-manage and let the shop's manager know that "you expect attention to detail". Go with a regional or national chain instead of a mom-n-pop store....they'll have a larger tire warehouse, bigger selection, better equipment, and most importantly: a corporate office to complain to (if needed). Either Sears Auto, ETD, or whichever chain is prominent in VA.
