Headlights turning off when stopped???
 

I just had Inspection 2 and brakes done on my 2006 X5 3.0. Now my headlights turn off when the car is stopped. Is this a setting or did the mechanic disrupt something? I've tried searching the site, the web, and the manual without luck.....thanks for any input....

Is the whole headlight assembly turning off? or are certain lights (angeleyes, parking lights, low beams) turning off?

check to see if any wiring is loose or not plugged in completely

Just the angel eyes ares turning off, the parking lights remain on. It's almost as if it's intended so as not to blind drivers stopped in front of me at stop lights. I still haven't figured it out........

hey did you ever figure this out, it was happening to me the other day? Everytime I got to a stop sign or red light, my headlights turned off! just the angel and signal lights stayed on?

Maybe your alternator and battery are bad? When the engines revs down there is less power? Just a guess.

Sounds like a pre-programmed function. Ask the stealer to see if they have altered something.

hi guys i know this is off the topic but im abit concerned.i own a bmw x5 e53 3.0d 2005.when i stood at the red light the car just swithed off.this never happend and it is a automatic.should i be concerned? can u guys help perhaps on what it could be.thanks:dunno:

Did it start right up OK or is it still dead? If dead, what are the exact symptoms?

I saw this old post. I have a 2005 x5 3.0 with same thing that happened. Headlights all of a sudden turned off when i was stopped and turned back on when i started to go. When i got home, they would not turn back on at all no matter what i did or what position i put the switch in. net morning i got in the car, turned the key and turned them on, they worked......What was your problem fix?
