For your X5 you have two options:

- NGK BKR6EQUP
- Bosch FGR7DQP

Either of them are fine, people here and on E46fanatics seem to prefer the NGK plugs.

Good Luck, I think you can find a DIY here or check on E46fanatics.

I just changed mine with NGK BKR6EQUP's over the weekend. I didn't notice a difference at all. I have 104k and I pulled out Bosch's with BMW on them so I assume they were the originals.

2 weeks ago I changed the fuel filter and damn... night and day performance increase. It feels much smoother and less restricted now, but I still have a problem with it acting very sluggish at times and jerky on-off gas acceleration

Based on advice and comments from this posting, I purchased NGK and installed at 64k. It was one of the easiest DIY I have done. The inline 6 is magnificent!! When is the recommended fuel filter change mileage?
