Emergency Brake Button Unresponsive - Stuck In

Has anyone ever experienced this issue? The button on the e-brake lever is flush w/ the lever itself (as opposed to protruding like it is normally supposed to be). The e-brake still works, but it gives a really strange feeling. You have to now push the button inside the handle to get the lever to release. Is there an adjustment that can be made or a spring that can be replaced?

Thanks.

Don't want to insult you, but let me mention one simple thing. Are you sure your e-brake handle hasn't slipped forward, so it is partially covering the button? Mine likes to move now and again.

No, it's definitely an issue with the button itself. It almost feels like it doesn't want to depress anymore (because it's almost fully depressed currently). Like 90% of the spring behind it was cut off or something (assuming it's a spring mechanism).

Question... are you able to push the button past the handle/into the handle? If so then statdoc is probably right. The handle fits very tight on the e-brake so if it comes a bit out it seems like it is fully installed.

I'd pull it up a few clicks (for angle) grab it very tightly with one hand, hand sticking a little bit past the end... Then use your other fist to hit it straight back to knock it back into place. (hit it like it owes you money, insulted your mother and stole your dog!)

Owes me money, insulted my mother AND stole my dog? Now it's gonna get it! I'll let you know how it goes.
