fault codes - advice needed
I used a handheld code reader to retrieve these codes
bmw codes from abs 90 128 I can only find c codes on web relating to abs as follows C0090 right rear abs solenoid #1 circuit malfunction ( is this correct , does it relate to code 90 I pulled ) C0128 low brake fluid circuit low |
I pulled the codes with a proper tool , here are the bmw definitions
128 brakes over heated . no doubt due to repeated braking from high speed to check for vibrations after replacing thrust arm bushes and ball joints . 90 brief power interruption . due to disconnecting the battery . also pulled these codes 1 supply terminal 30 lew . steering angle sensor code due to power interruption . 13 immobiliser voltage supply interruption . 40 headlamp optical initialisation . ? |
If you have dynamic xenons, turn with headlights, the initialization fault is due to the steering angle initialization lost from power interruption. Is the DSC light on? Try turning your steering wheel from lock to lock a few times to see if it finds it again.
I don't think I've ever seen a brakes overheated fault code in 6 years at the dealer, but it may be different for US spec vs you guys... |
my braking was extreme , hence the overheating .
the xenons are self levelling and should adjust vertically to suit driving situ .they are not dynamic . I need to check if they still self test up / down when I switch lights on . I reset the steering angle sensor by turning wheel left to right when the dsc light came on after reconnecting battery . |
Well, if all the codes were set by known cause circumstances they may just be lingering in fault history... You could just clear them and see if they ever come back.
