Is it a BMW dealer? If not, I'd tell them to knock 5 grand off that and deal from there. It'll be easy to see where they're coming from if they laugh at you or the salesman needs to "talk to the manager about it". Tis the season for Stealers to raise prices, holidays and 4wheel/all wheel drives are tagged premium in winter, but the price is about market average for an 02 4.6.

I dunno if you've ever read this, but it'll open your eyes to what happens on the other side of the dealership when you go to buy a car.

I mentioned this article to the salesman from whom I have bought my last 5 vehicles. He confirmed all the salient points brought up in that article. Said that honest salesmen have a really hard time in most dealerships, because of the pressure on them to make high-profit sales.

 Radio salespeople are on the same branch of the tree as car salespeople, I get to spend time around them to observe how they tick but that article is a real eye opener.

No adjustable ride height was offered on that 4.6. There is rear air suspension but not front. For 52k miles, IMO, you can do better on the price. I agree with above, if you want it I'd offer at least 5k lower and be prepared to walk away.

Bummer i was really hoping about the arh on the 4.6 :( oh well....just have to wait a little longer to get the 4.8  thx for the info on the arh, so on that note; when did the arh get introduced and on what models? :dunno:

z356 11-22-2005 11:35 PM

From my preliminary research, ARH was available in 2002 on 3.0 and 4.4, but not with sport suspension (so no 4.6). In 2003 you could order along with models with sport suspension, except for the 4.6, which apparently did not come with it. Has anyone seen a 2003 4.4 Sport with ARH? From 2004, it was standard on 4.8 and optional on all others. Perhaps ARH came earlier than 2002, anyone?

I am almost positive ARH was introduced only in 2002.

Im pretty sure I have seen a 2003 4.6is with ARH...I could be wrong...but I dont think so.
