Quite often it is a problem if you do not have the TITLE IN HAND.
It can take longer than 2 weeks no matter what "they" tell you.
RED, good color, almost never see any here in So FL.
Try Autotrader. good luck

Thanks Daka. I called BMW Financial Services today - they said if I overnight certified funds to pay it off, and pay the $15 fee to have the title overnighted back to me, it should take about 5-7 day total turnaround -- but I bet that's the absolute best case scenario, and I wouldn't hold my breath on that.

They said they will even mail the title to the person that buys it - but I'd have to sign the title over to them anyway - so not much point in that I guess.

Oh...by the way, the one main thing that nobody has commented on yet -

What would y'all price this thing? $20...21...22...23? I don't know how much the rare color helps me?

I know when I do an autotrader search for red X5's in a 500 mile radius from my zip code, I usually find about 5 of them. So they're out there, but they are few and far between.

I will also say this, if your car has a clean Carfax (not that that is 100% accurate) it helps, most people like to see a super clean car, I would spend the money to have it professionally detailed (unless you are a super cleaner, like me) clean up the engine as best as you easily can, clean inside the door jambs, inside the gas filler door, mats out clean rugs and under the seats....etc
When I looked for my 06 I wanted Sport and Premium...and NOT ANY KIND OF GREY OR WHITE (INCLUDING SILVER) I didn't really want black...but that was what I found that was "un-molested" low miles.
I wish I could have found a RED or a GREEN...it just needs the right person.
Don't be discouraged...someone is looking for your exact car.

Nice!

Very nice car, by the way! I wish mine had the tan interior like yours, I like it much better than the black interior.

I'm a clean car fanatic and a maintenance fanatic, I've barely driven my X5 since I bought it. I just gave my Yukon to my daughter, so I've put more miles on the X5 in the last month or two than I did all last year!

You should see my 2000 Yukon - it has 188,000 miles and still looks like it has about 30K miles.

So if someone is indeed looking for a Red X5, they won't be disappointed with mine. Like you say, it's just finding the buyer that wants a red one.

Look at edmunds.com true market value (private party sale is usually pretty close to what you can get) for an idea on what it is potentially worth.

I think you're putting too much emphasis on the color. IMO it's rare because few people wanted it.
