Tire advise please !!!
Hi everyone,
I bought my e53 48is in march it came with set of winter tires and (looks like new) Toyo Proxes. When i bought the car, i notice tire noise little bit but not much it was reasonable after two month's i went to business trip and i haven't drive it for a month. After i came back from the trip i notice tire noise has gotten worse... i driven 7000 miles and when you go over 50 miles, you hear that haming noise come from back of the car, i had one of my friend to drive my car and i was on his car, when he passed through, i thought 18 wheeler taking me over. Tires looks new and has good treads on it, but to much noise. I wanna get some quiet tires, What brand of tires should i get? Please advise... Front: 275/40ZR20 and Rear: 315/35ZR20 |
go michelin or go home...

I moved from Michelin Diamaris to Brdigestone Dueler(also used on new X6 & X5 M) and the Dueler are less noisy than Michelin Diamaris.
|
Same here i moved from Michelin Diamaris to Toyo S/T to Dueler HP ... so far so good after 20k miles...
|
Thank you for the advise,Should i go with Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sport or Dueler H/P Sport RFT.
|
Not to be that guy, but I figured I'd throw it out there. Are you 100% that it's tire noise?
|
Not sure I'd take the Bridgestone run flats, but the non-runflats for sure. We ditched the RFT's on our 2006 325i after 9,000 miles when it was new.

I have Toyo proxes and after 3000 miles they are loud and annoying to me

I would recommend the Proxes S/T II's. They are much better than the original S/T's with regard to noise. The original S/T's were great tires for me, but noise was pretty bad. I would also look a the Bridgestone Dueler HP Sport, Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta SUV or Pirelli Scorpion Asimmetricos. I would personally stay away from the Michelins at all cost as far as the X5 is concerned. |
bridgestone dueler hp sport FTW
