which tool to remove ball joint wishbone
 

I am trying to remove the ball joint for the wishbone on the front suspension. The tension strut is the other one. On my e39, I have a ball joint removal tool that pushes on the top of the bolt and seperates them. but, it is a little too short to reach the top of the bolt. Does anyone have a tool part number that will fit?

Solved, used Kroil and hammer
 

I sprayed Kroil on the bolt/shaft after I removed the 22mm nut. Here is a link to it on Amazon, it is amazing stuff.

Anyways, after sitting for 10 minutes with Kroil, one hit of my hammer and the ball joint broke free and dropped.

How does this compare to the PB blaster. I can't get my ball joint out either. The metals look like they have been fused together. I've been banging on the ball joint for 2 day's now, no budge. I used PB blaster, even tried heating up the damn thing with a propane torch. I purchased a ball joint removal tool- much like a big heavy fork, with a sledge hammer, nothing worked! No tool ever made to remove this ball joint either. The other ball joint is stuck too, but I am confident in getting it out since there is a special tool that grabs it from the top of the bolt thread. Any suggestions?

this is the ball joint that I cant get out, it faces upward in the picture, it should be facing downward...

Kroil and PB Blaster are the same type of thing, but I don't think the Kroil smells as nasty as PBB.

One other product to try- FreezeOff, made by CRC I think. I've used it on the old 36mm collar nuts on my Porsche's oil lines which are famous for practically welding themselves with corrosion to the oil line threads. Very easy to damage or strip the threads if not careful. You spray FreezeOff on the part, causing it to shrink a tiny bit. Then when the part comes back to room temp, it's easier to remove presumably because the shrink and expand process helps break the corrosion holding it all together. Sort of heating it but in reverse.
