Transmission slow to react

I bought my first x5 about a month ago. Shortly after buying it I started to notice that when pulling away from a stop, it seems to take a while to accelerate away. There is a 10sec or so delay before there is any power. I cant tell if its a delay in throttle or a delay in the transmission. When I hit the gas there seems to be no reaction in RPM's for a few seconds and then a slow climb to 1500 RPM's and then normal acceleration. There are some other electrial gremlins too. The red phone light on the dash (non-nav) is always on. Sometimes the hvac control buttons dont work, everything works normal, just doesnt react to pressing a button. The issues probably arnt related but the trans issue worries me. Anyone ever have a similar issue? I plan to do a fluid and filter change. Anyone know where I could find a good diy on this? The x5 is a 2004 3.0 with 70k miles, non sport.

Thanks in advance.
