Key turns 360 degrees!

Has anyone experienced there key not catching in the ignition and turning 360. This happened to me this morning and the car won’t start. The key simply spins all the way around and never catches. Is this an easy fix (DIY project) or do I need to take it to the dealer? It’s a 2001 4.4. Thanks.

That would be an ignition switch... Not the easiest job but an experienced DIY guy can probably get it done with the right resources.
