New Battery Tranny Kick gone, is this possible?
 

My 2005 4.4 with 69K Miles has had the Tranny Kick since I got it. Not awful but there. I usually experience it when I'm on a steep hill and come to a complete stop. As soon as I accelerate WHAM! My solution is to 1. Put it in to sport mode 2. Roll the stop 3. Feather the gas. None of these solutions has been fool proof.

My X5 was having some starting issues so I replaced the original battery.

I'ts been 3 weeks and no kick. I even tried to make it kick today. Could a new battery help or even solve the issue? I wouldn't think so but... :popcorn:

Interesting. I guess it's possible that some of the electronic gizmos and sensors might be affected by low voltage. I wish it was that simple a solution. Could be that disconnecting the battery resets the adaptation data. There have been reports that reseting the adaptation is a temporary fix. Keep us posted.

when you disconnect the battery, the clutch adaptations in the trans are lost.

Thanks guys. I have tried resetting stuff before with the key in position 2 and holding the gas pedal down but never noticed a difference. I will say that the truck seems to be driving differently. If you believe the tranny kick will return then I will be disconnecting the battery often.
