I noticed this morning that it is worse when the car is cold/cold outside.

I got my 20" 87s re-roadforced with a different shop, he did a much better job, it feels a lot smoother now but still not perfect. Anything else i should check?

It's amazing how the other shop did such a bad job....My steering wheel is still not straight from the alignment that they did.

If it feels a lot better after the balance, it would seem tha the tires/wheels are your main issue. Otherwise, it would feel the same as before this most recent re-balance. I bet you are still not balanced perfectly, you have a bent wheel or your tires are out of round/unevenly worn.

I guess, i should get my winter wheels and tires done by the new guy and see how they feel to eliminate that issue.

I think the hunter machine would be able to detect a bent wheel and for sure tires that are out of round/unevenly worn.

The Hunter machines are only as good as the people using them are as evidenced by the difference in the balance this time as opposed to your first balance. Both were on Hunters and the results were different. I also had my old Toyo's Hunter balanced by one shop and my new Pirelli's by another. The Toyo shop was much more expensive and known for working on high end cars. The Pirelli shop was average. The balance was much better on my Toyo's at the better shop using the same exact machine.

Specifically ask them to check your rims. Sometimes they just balance the best they can with what you have and never mention anything to you until you ask.

Roadforce balancing only helps when the person doing it knows what the hell they're doing. If needed it would entail measuring the soft/stiff spots of the tires, marking the tires, measuring the rims for bends, dynamic warpage etc. and marking them... then turning some tires on the rims while swapping others from rim to rim etc. What it does is match the imperfections in the tires to the imperfections in the rims the best way possible to give the smoothest road characteristics.

I am pretty sure that the machine tells you when rim matching is required/needed. On that note, if it was required, it would intail removing the tire from the rim and risk scratching the wheel by the person doing it. Also with staggered wheels you can only swap with 2 wheels instead of 4.

Just installed my winter wheels which got roadforced balanced as well. Same issue occurs, probably a little lighter since the weight of the wheels 20" 87 to 18" 69 makes a difference.

It must be something on the suv, what should i get the mech to check next?

Should i try replacing this item? Or replace the whole driveshaft? The vibration is still there on both sets of wheels and its getting annoying.
