Garage Door Opener Programming Article Posted

I have gained a lot from this board, and some of the great articles/suggestions/advice put forth by the members. This is one small way maybe I can give back!

As you probably know, many upscale cars have built-in transmitters, that conform to the HomeLink protocol, allowing you to open garage doors, gates, etc, without having to carry a separate transmitter. I really like it, and it irritated me highly when I couldn't get mine to program properly with a new garage door opener today. I finally found the answer, and want to share it to others who might face the same thing.

Very well done, thanks for sharing your experiences and the results of your research. FYI, this article is also linked on the home page (item 4 in the MISCELLANEOUS section)

I am having diffiiculty, but haven't gone to step 6 yet. Which step worked for you? Just pressing and releasing or going to the motor to "train"?

If you have stopped the process before Step 6, it will not work. You have to do all the steps. The only thing that is "optional" is the underlined portion of Step 3. For me, I had no success until I did all the listed steps, including the repetive button pressing called "cycling" in the instructions.

If I am not clear on this, please let me explain better.
