worked on rear passager window,& unplug it the air bag plug, now light is on! (Fixed)
hi,,
i have the 2001 bmw x5 4.4 and my rear passenger window it went bad going up and down,,so i have decided to open the panel to see what was going on inside,,and after i took panel down,,i have notice for some reason the airbag plug was out,now from shaking the panel maybe that's where the plugcome out?!,because i did not unplug that plug,, now i have the airbag light at the dash!,, what should i do so the light goes away? do i need to reset the airbag with carsoft ,, and can someone tell me where is the location of the battery?! thank you very much for any advice!!! |
You have no choice but to have the codes reset via the dealership or finding someone with a Peake SRS tool. I've got one, but it's being borrowed by another member here and he'e still got it.

thanks for repling!
well i was using carsoft adapter, but for some reason i cant reset.. is there anyone here that uses carsoft and what are the steps to reset the air bag light? i do this way: i go under "erase " then i click airbag",,but light stays on,,,after ,,module was erased! also if a airbag is unplug can the light be turned off? because what i am thinking now is the the cable was unplug by someone that had the car before!,, thanks, |
update:
fixed. after so many attempts with carsoft adapter trying to reset my airbag light, well i finally got it fixed. interesting, how i have fixed it, as i said above in my first post, when i took the passenger rear panel down the airbag plug was out,,but i have consider that i was not the one that i have pulled it:stickpoke,so pluged in,i try to reset it,,but did not worked ,so i open the panel unplug the wire from air bag ,,reset my light with carsoft and bingo ,,light went out... now the question remains,,if is unplug it,how come even before the light was of?,,how come the computer or airbag main module, did not say anything,,like the wire is out or light to come on?... thank you,for all info. bosanci28 |
