X5 E53 Aero Pack question
For a 2005 X5 E53.
Can somebody tell me if the front bumper from the aero package will fit with the stock arches on the front fenders? Is the aero bumper much wider, or only the arches make that impression? I only have the front bumper and I want to know if I can install it without purchasing the rest of the package. Thanks. |
Nobody knows? 53 views but no answers.

Yes, it looks like you need the fenders, but here is a $285 solution.http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...catalogid=4462
You could probably find cheaper one's if you look around on the internet a bit. |
I imagine that maybe, in some way, the shoulder that is made by the corner of the bumper to fit the arch, could be somehow polished until is rounded or molded to the fender. I will get the bumper on the car and I will se how much shoulder it gets on the outside, could be only a few mm. Also, maybe the fenders could be bent to fit the bumper corners.
I was hoping someone did that already. |
I think the body shop labor would cost more then buying the fenders, unless you plan on doing it yourself?
And the fenders give the x5 a wider, meaner look as well. |
Maybe in USA. Here in Romania labor is very cheap. Like 50$ for high quality bumper painting for example, including paint and other materials.

I solved the mistery.
It is possible to fit an aero bumper to stock fenders. The only thing is that you have to take off the fender guides on both sides, because the stock guides keeps the bumper in the position to fit the wider aero arches. Without the guides, you can easily ply the bumper to fit the fender, is not stiff at all, but some other type of guides must be made to keep the bumper in the new position. Will post pictures after installing. |
I know labor is cheap, I'm not from the USA, I'm from serbia, but how do you remove the front flares?
|
I will use the stock flares, not the aero pack bigger ones. The plastic guides that keep the bumper tight to the fender I will have to take it off, and I will bent the bumper to get to the fender line.
