I heard that too in the video and my guess is the Torque converter is failing. I know that noise from experience.

I was thinking about your video when he first posted the exhaust video, but now that other people are mentioning the sound as well, I'm leaning toward it either being the TQ after all...unless he's hiding the S/C from us for future races!

You won't be feeling good when you have to replace the the torque converter or rebuild the whole tranny. I would have the dealer or tranny shop check it out. If you catch the failing converter early you might be able to just replace the converter and avoid a rebuild.

:iagree: Avoiding the issue isn't going to make it go away. There is a whole thread that Hit Redline and I were on where another member decided to ignore the sound and ended up destroying his trans as well when the TC finally grenaded itself. BMW's aren't the kinds of vehicle that take well to neglect, and since everything costs so much as is, it will only snowball if things get worse when you put them off because due to lack of waiting to see what happens. You should really get it checked out man. A replacement TC can be found on eBay for around $200, but a trans is going to cost you probably 3-10x times that depending on where you get it and if you go for new vs used.

Hit redline, for comparisons sake, you should post up the link to your thread that had a video with the sound. I get the strong feeling we've got a case of the exact same issue going on here. Sounds good, but definately will cost an arm and a leg if not addressed.
