SES light on...again!
My SES light on came on again and the code im getting is P0052=(Heater control circuit high bank 2 sensor 1). Does any one know what is causing this problem? Any help will appreciated.

O2 sensor heater circuit, sounds like you need a new sensor. Bank 2 sensor 1 will be the drivers side pre-cat sensor.

I forgot to mention that two of pins in the plug (pic) should have power. I'm only getting power to one, on the other plug two of the four get power. Do you know what could be causing it to not have power?

Ah, that info changes it all... I would say the 2 month old O2 sensor is not bad, but you will need to look up the wiring schematic for that circuit and see where the O2 sensor heater circuit is powered from, then go from there with wire checks and seeing what else you can check.
You can look at the schematics on a few sites online, the one I remember that is free is WDS BMW Wiring Diagram System - X5 E53 Note that you may need to download some drivers to view it, just expect it. Should be some SVG viewer. |

Well, that is the DME, the engine computer... It may be worth paying the 1 hour diagnosis at the dealer to see if it could be anything else as the module costs around $1,200 plus programming.
Just tell them what you know, that being it is a new sensor and the heater wire isn't getting powered. |
Ok i'll just bring it to the dealer and get it diagnosed. Thank you for all your help.
