4.6is updated look
 

I thought is about time to do something for my X5 4.6is ( still in love w/ this E53 ) .It has a 147000miles and everything that has to be fix I do it by myself. I like the way the tailgate lights look now( easy to do it) and since I love the ///M bagde so much I thought to put one on my 4.6is .The other things that I did are the rear bumper left&right finns and tailgate handle wrapped in real carbon fiber , I topped the running boards w/ alumnium sheets w/ black dots and the I tried some painted eyelid but I'm not happy yet w/the line .....still working on headlights reprofit

Sorry...aside from the CF-wrapped tailgate handle, not feeling any of it. Looks way too busy, imo (Ferrari? Really?).

*Edit: perhaps a bit harsh. The 4.6iS is still my favorite E53, and imo, a disservice has been done to a classic design. Doesn't matter my opinion...if it makes you happy...

Oh my. I had to double take on the Ferrari badge.:rolleyes:

The rear tail lights are actually pretty cool. Front lights decal are not, Ferrari badge, not cool either. But still very nice X!

Taillights are hot

Cant see if its chrome trim or silver but it is very E70 ish!!!!

I agree let your bmw be what it truly is, which is a very nice 4.6. NOT an M, and definitely not a ferrari.

Nice job on the tail lights... And I would like it even more if the stickers were less obvious.

Did your 4.6is not come with the fender flares for the front?

Here's an idea for you on for the eyelid. Not sure how it would turn out for black car though.

I like everything apart for the eyelids, you should definitely do the E70 look eyelids like simoncpw has done, it will match the rest of your car.

Looks great...and to those freaking out about the M badge...relax it looks good he is not trying to fool anyone...

Take off the M badge and Ferrari stickers and you would have a cool looking ride.

I like the ///M badge but you should take off the ferrari badge.
Where did you buy the carbon fiber wrap? I have not seen one that looks as realistic as yours.:thumbup:

I undertand the desire to change things up when a little bored with a vehicle but that also raises the possibility of doing unnecessary things.

The tails are interesting and different for an E53. Overall a nice look but you have lost the whilte reverse lights. That could be bad when people don't know you are in reverse so watch out in parking lots.

I really like the taillights, but like PersonaNonGrata said the lack of reverse lights can be a dangerous thing. I like the silver strip you laid down on them too, and the M stripe on the CF tailgate handle looks very nice.

+1 on tails except turns/reverse would be smart.
+1 on CF styling.
+0 on ///M badge, as much as it deserves it, it aint right. It does look good, but if it suits you, the more powa' to ya!

OK...Rule number 1. never place an M badge on a non M BMW (This is one of those unsaid rules that we all know and love) ....Rule number 2. never put a ferrari badge on any BMW. Please dont make me do a rule #3. LOL!

Why not!!! 4.6is have enough balls and better look than ferarri. And him putting logo on x5 by that he is saying it is the same thing and not anyhow different!

Like I said .Asu does have a point!Like a lot of members here,I hate it when people label their cars for something they are not.But everyone has different tastes and free to do what they like on their cars.I didnt like the Ferrari badge ,but I restrained myself from any comments on this and just commented on what I like (the tail lights).
The 4.6is when it came out was a very impressive machine and still is .At the time,if I am not wrong,it even had similar power to Ferrari V8s,so in my opinion (and I am entitled to this) ,anyone putting an"M" badge or in this case a"ferrari badge is discrediting the car and ruining its personality!

Now,its also true to say that Asu´s first post was rather "agressive" but still dont think he meant any harm..Hopefully he will have seen this and make a nicer comment;)

tail lights are awesome :D can you tell me where did you get them or what did you do to accomplish that e70 look?

where did you get that Honda x5? I could only imagine how it looks now
