What is this wiring plug for?

Hi,

In the trunk of my X5 3.0D Sport is the following wiring plug. Can anyone tell me where its supposed to be plugged in please

These things are pre-wired for all kinds of accessories, I wouldn't think nothing of it.

Pre wired? Mine has cold pkg. But its an 00 so no rear heating seats...( maked it look plain. Can anything be done?

It looks like the connector that attaches to the BMW Tow hitch wiring harness.

My X5 has an after market tow bar fitted which I need to remove as it looks ugly with it on
