Those feelings...

So, like, how do you really feel when you get behind the wheel of your X5?:dunno: Are you proud to drive a german machine; sorry that you bought it in the first place; neutral about the whole thing?

Personally, this being my third BMW, I'm always happy to be behind the wheel of my X5. There's something about driving "the ultimate driving machine" that makes me feel special. The Mercedes ML350's are nice but for some reason I just like my bimmer better.:D:thumbup:

Just curious how the rest of you feel about yours.

I wish it was a 5MT every time I get in. The 3.0i is fast enough for me, and it drives well enough being a SUV.

Having Jackie Stewart desires in a Reggie White body, I ain't never going to fit in anything smaller than my X5. (42" sitting height, butt to head) I just plain LOVE my BMW. It's the best fun car I've ever driven. Unfortunately, people tend to move onto another make when their frustration of dealing with BMW dealers exceeds their joy of driving a BMW. Finding a good dealer or Indy or enjoying DIY is almost paramount for long term ownership.

I purchased a 2000 4.4i in May of 2009. I traded it in for a 2001 330xi in December 2009 because I wanted better fuel economy. In February 2010 I traded the 330xi in for a 2001 4.4i because I missed the driving experience of the X5. Overall it cost me $6,000 to undo the decision I made to trade in the 2000 X5. I'll leave it to the reader to decide how much I like the X5.

 it all makes perfect sense , and the first line made me laugh a lot .:D

yeah , and I enjoy driving the X5 , every one enjoys travelling in the X5 .it feels reasonably solid .
we all hate it when it develops more problems .
the dashboard is in bits right now because the heater blower fried along with the final stage resistor , which was replaced already 18 months / 8000 miles ago .

I feel like it is a great, solid vehicle. It is my wifes daily driver, so when I get a chance to drive it, the first thing I notice is that even with 120,000 miles it feels rock solid. No squeaks, rattles or anything else. Engine, brakes and trans are as smooth as silk. Plus, it still looks great and it is still quite modern, imo.

I also feel quite scared when I roll down a window.

I love mine too . If I have parked it anywhere I can't help admiring it as I walk back to it. Drives like a dream.

Just as a by the way WVMTNBIKER I was just smiling at your last comment on Ultimatedrivingmachine forum - I mentioned Xoutpost a couple of times on there and they banned me for life off the forum !

TerryJenk: well, what I said was true, eh? Tons and tons of questions but not many answers. At least this forum helps a mate out even if the questions are redundant or just plain stupid like some of mine have been.:( If you are going to have a forum, have the respect to either help other folks out with their questions/problems or shut the thing down altogether. I deleted their forum from my favorites list so it really doesn't matter. Xoutpost is all I need now.:D
