Good call taking them off. It cheapens an otherwise fine car.

They don't look terrible, but they definately have an aftermarket look. I've seen those all over eBay for around $10, so if you do find a use for them as ground lighting, at least you can get more if needed. Maybe put them in the cargo area, the lights on the inside of the tailgate are terribly dim (even after adding 194 LED's) and do nothing when trying to see anything inside my black interior.

Now I am feeling really bad for paying $80 for this light :(. I am very dissapointed with the quality. They do look like $10 light. I was expecting more from ECS Tunning.

I wasn't trying to upset you, but it's been noted that many companies are sometimes taking simple ebay items and just selling them under their label. It happens, so no dwelling on it now...live and learn. Have you tried using them anywhere else yet?

Not yet. I took them off and will try to look for a good spot over the weekend. The bottom of the front doors seem to be a good place to start.

I've seen those on Audi's and now on I think a new Porsche Cayenne. The Porsche had a white line of LED marker lights and then amber LED's below (for the blinker). The one thing I can't stand is that they are really really bright and I find them distracting. There is an Audi Q5 in my neighborhood with LED running DRL's and each morning I'm invariably in front of this person and they just are blinding. Guess I'm not a fan...I think the Angel Eye's on the X5 are the nicest look.

The LED strip on most Audi's is pretty damn bright, but I have to agree that angel eyes are more subtle. Audi does there thing, we do ours. I'm still curious to see how ArmyX5 puts those strips to use as I'd still like to brighten the cargo area and add some useable light without making aftermarket changes that look out of place.
