Congrats on the milestone. I'm not even halfway there.

mrBrigante 10-14-2010 12:14 AM

kudos man great maintenance goes a long way

PersonaNonGrata 10-14-2010 12:19 AM

Awesome! This gives us all great hope for similar longevity.

c4racer 10-14-2010 02:37 AM

Sweet!! I am just over halfway there myself. the 100K mile roll-over didn't phase me one bit either. AW on lack is a great color combo - I had a E36 M3 sedan that color that I sold to a buddy and he still has it 7 years later!! Although I doubt he is much over 100K on his.

Allstarsrd12 10-14-2010 12:17 PM

Thats awesome. Give her a nice little tap on the rear for her performance lol.
Any tranny problems over the lifetime? I just hit 105k, runs like a champ. Just have little shifting thuds that you can't help but be OCD about.

In the celebration of you hitting 200k, and giving us all hope, I'm pulling the trigger today and getting the set of OEM style 87's I've been contemplating for the past week. My bank account thanks you

Technically I am on tranny #4 - failed at around 130-140K, had it rebuilt. A year later it failed again - rebuilt again under warranty. Kept having issues with that one, so they took the whole thing out and started over. No issues now except the dang slamming issue on downshift.

Only other MAJOR expense was replacing the cats - $2200. I have done probably all other expected repairs - water pump, alternator, O2 sensors, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc.

Seems like it runs better since I quit taking it to the BMW mechanic for oil changes - has gotten a lot cheaper too!!
