I should know this but...
 

I recently installed a back up camera and module so that when I put my 06 X5 into reverse I can see what is going on behind me..

However, the stock license plate and reverse lights were not bright enough so I bought some uber-bright LEDs to replace them with..

Now I just turned 56 last week so that could be my excuse, but I cannot figure out how the hecK to replace EITHER lamps..

Can someone take pity on this poor fool and describe to me (like I am a 50 year old) exactly where and how to get to these suckers..?

For the reverse lights u have to remove the reflectors on top of the tail gate and remove the cover on the inside of the tailgate. There is a diy on the rear fog light install that explains how to get it off. The liscence plate light I think has a few screws and the whole strip comes out.
