New owner saying hi

Hey guys
I just picked up a 2003 4.6iS. It has 100k miles on it and has had most of the common issues fixed already. I've had an E38 and an E39 so I'm no stranger to what this truck is going to need. The previous owner fixed most things. I just replaced the aux fan, thrust arm bushings and 02 sensor. The trans was replaced at 70k so hopefully it isn't an issue for me. I don't want to put too much $ into accessories but angel eyes are a must.
Anyway, just saying hi and looking forward to having some fun with this truck. http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a0...D720/ry%3D480/

Congrats...the 4.6iS is my fav E53. Great mod options when you get bit by the bug.

You should inquire if the torque converter was replaced along with the trany. the TC is probably the most prone to fail component for the 4.6iS. Preventive maintenance is the key with the iS models (very costly repairs if ignored).

I'm sure you already know this but assuming you're in the North East...be sure to pick up a pair of dedicated snow tires. My 4.6iS rides on 20" dedicated snows with M&S stamp during winter season.

happy motoring :driver:

curious what makes the E53 iS different in this respect from a regular 4.4i?

congrats on the new ride. It looks like a virtual clone of mine!! I have 113K on mine btw. I love driving it. In fact, I hadn't driven it in a week and had the opportunity to take a car out on Sat. morning and I chose that over the E38 and vette. Wife drives it for the most part during the week right now while school is in session, so I guess I was missing it!!

Not sure about the TC. I have to check. Thanks for the heads up. I know all about the snow tires. Had them on my 740. But now my wife has a '06 Range Rover which I will be my snow vehicle.
